Happy Birthday to Meee!

On April 27th, we celebrated my birthday.  We had many people come over including almost my whole family and a handful of my friends that I haven't seen for a while.  We were able to have an enjoyable BBQ even though the wind would blow the food off the table faster than we could get to it.

One of the big gifts I got was from Chelsey and her family!  They pitched in to get me something personal and very unique..

Its a 12 string acoustic guitar painted by the one and only Dustyn Baird.  I like things that are a little dark and creepy and Dustyn knows this so he painted this guitar for me.

It has the lyrics to one of Metallica's songs titled "Until it Sleeps".

Yesterday for Family Home Evening, we went to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point.  There was a decent sized group of us that went, but Candice got us a discount on the tickets.  It was me, my parents, the whole Badger clan, and of course, the lovely Miss Chultz.  I was pretty excited for it because I heard we could rent segways and ride them around, which would've been pretty fun, I thought.  We then saw that to rent one would be $20 and that just wasn't worth it to me, so we used what God gave us and walked around the beautiful gardens to appreciate scenery more fully.

So, as you can see, it was a very eventful time.  Of course we saw a variety of flowers along with these many other great sites!  After seeing so many wedding and baptism pictures being professionally taken, we began to mimik their actions and take some "professional" pictures of our own.

And a Langston family outing wouldn't be complete without some tears. Even thouh Dan and Dave weren't there to cause them, the tears still came!

All in all, it was a great evening with plenty of eye candy and nostril sweets to last me a week!

Another Ride...

After having my Mazda RX-8 (RoXy) for a couple months and spending too much money on fuel to run that honey of a ride, I decided I needed something smaller and more fuel efficient.  I started just browsing, just for fun, to see what some of my options were.  I still wanted to stay with a sporty car because I'm not ready to jump to sedan status just yet.  I found a nice little Honda at a used car dealer in Orem and test drove it.  The first thing I noticed was that it wasn't as smooth as RoXy and wasn't as cool and sporty as her, so I took it back, thanked the man and continued on my quest.  I drove other cars like a Nissan 350z, BMW Z3, and was checking out the Honda S2000.  The nissan I drove was too trashy for the price they were asking, I couldn't sit up straight in the BMW and my friend Dustyn has an S2000 and I didn't want to copy him.  After much thought and studying on that Honda Civic I had previously test drove, I came to the conclusion that it was what I wanted. 

I made the sad trip to the dealer on a Monday afternoon to trade in my beautiful gas guzzler, and of course I had traction control off so I could enjoy the rear-wheel drive one last time!  After signing all the papers and doing all that time consuming stuff, I got the keys to my new 2002 Honda Civic Si!  It gets 30+ MPG, which is a big difference from RoXy's 17-20 MPG.

Sure, it's not as sporty and it doesn't catch eyes left and right, but it sure saves me a little bit of money on fuel and I think I'll be able to find someone that can fix a 4-cylinder motor easier and cheaper than someone to fix a rotary motor.  I feel that all in all it was a good trade, even though at first I thought it looked like a mini minivan.  Chelsey didn't like me saying that since she loves the car, so I've been able to look past the shape and enjoy the ride!

If I get a tan over the summer and can manage to grow some dirt on my upper lip, maybe I'll put some money in the car to make it look like this:

Until then I'll just drive what I have and enjoy it none the less.

NEW WHEELS

Ever since I was a young buck, I've wanted a sweet car to drive so that the ladies would acknowledge me, because in high school that's all they look for.  I got my license at 16 years old and immediately started looking for sweet looking cars that I had no money for.  Finally, I found something worth driving.

Our neighbor recently had their windshield broken and were selling their Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight for $30.  How could I pass that up?! I bought the boat of a car and fell in love with it.  Sure, there were problems with it like I couldn't see out of the windshield and the shocks were finished, but a new wind screen and a vaccuum job and it was ready to fit some ladies!

Needless to say, the girls still kept their distance.  What was wrong with this car?  It had a calculatorin the dash, a voice that would let you know when the parking brake was on, and a bench seat up front!  Maybe it was too fancy.  I decided that I should get something else.

I sold my olds and found that another neighbor had a car that was just sitting in front of his house, not doing anything.

A beautiful 1981 Toyota Tercel was the ticket! If I can't "wooo" the beautiful women with this, atleast I'd get good gas mileage!  Again, the ladies failed to flock but the gas bill showed me some love.  I stuck with this car all through high school but tried new things every now and then, including:

A couple months ago we had some car problems and were looking into buying another vehicle that didn't suck so bad so that someone could drive it since Jeanette's cars always seem to break.  I decided that it's now my time to get a sweet car!  I looked online for a couple days, found a nice deal, test drove the car and the next morning bought my first sweet set of new wheels.

I finally got a car that all the ladies love and want to ride in!  The only thing is, is that I've already got one to ride in it with me!

And we look dang good in it, too!

New Semester

It's been a while since I've written anything on here.  There are many reasons for this but one of the big ones is that I recently started a new semseter at Utah Valley University and am very busy with school work.

This is my second, and a half, semester here at this beautiful school with lake and mountain views.  I'm just working on my generals now but will eventually be taking some real classes to work towards a degree in business management.  It's no walk in the park, that's for sure!  My mornings are spent running to and from classes, and my evenings are spent either working, spending time with Chelsey and/or doing my homework.  I'm booked!

For my math class, the assignments are to be completed online.  As I was doing my homework tonight, I took a breather and got a drink of water and came back to find a nice suprise on my computer.

For some strange reason, this cat thinks he can do whatever he darn well pleases.  I thought it was kinda cute for a minute then decided to get back to homework.  I took Henry off my computer and he went right back on the keys and layed his furry self down again.  I resorted to just throwing him outside my door so I could finish my stuff.
